Silk Way Airlines (Baku) and Antonov on May 7, 2015 signed a contract for the delivery of 10 new An-178 freighters (below).
According to Wikipedia, the Antonov An-178 is a short-range medium-airlift military transport aircraft designed by the Ukrainian Antonov company and based on the Antonov An-158 (An-148-200). The new type was announced on February 5, 2010 and was rolled out on April 16, 2015. The first flight was conducted successfully on May 7, 2015.
The An-178 is proposed to replace the Antonov An-12, Antonov An-26 and Antonov An-32.[
Interestingly the new An−178 is also equipped with a cargo ramp.
Currently Silk Way operates four Antonov An-12s along with the Ilyushin Il-76s and Il-76TD-90s.
